Why We Built This Site
Elko County has no single counter or portal for every criminal record. Sheriff Records handles agency reports and county booking material, while the County Clerk keeps Fourth Judicial District files at the Annex Building. Justice and municipal clerks hold their own lower-court cases. Nevada's Central Repository supplies a person's fingerprint-confirmed state history through DPS-006, and the statewide registry and corrections department publish narrower products. We built this resource to explain those boundaries and present verified request routes, contacts, fees, and access limits in one readable place.
What You Will Find Here
- Agency routes: which Elko County office holds an incident report, booking entry, or court file
- Official self-review: how Nevada's subject-only DPS-006 fingerprint process works
- Access details: verified clerk and Sheriff contacts, public portals, request steps, timing, and stated fees
- Record sealing: how Nevada's sealing remedy differs from deleting or destroying a record
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not an Elko County or Nevada government service. It is not connected with the Sheriff, any court, police department, or state agency. Those limits mean:
- We do not retrieve official criminal records or conduct official checks
- We cannot submit a Nevada record-sealing petition or public-records request for a reader
- We do not issue certified court papers, booking records, or Repository histories
- We cannot offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or sealing question
- We cannot promise that an agency will never change a fee, address, phone number, or procedure
An official copy must come from its custodian, such as Sheriff Records, the maintaining clerk, or Nevada's Central Repository.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its own service, pricing, results, and data practices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports operation of the resource. We neither set those charges nor determine which results the provider returns.
